Dan and one of his students in the ringDan Franklin's Equine Communication Services can come to your facility, (or arrange a facility), for single or multi-day programs. Dan works with his students (adults or children) on a one-to-one basis, teaching them the skills necessary to communicate with the horse in it's own language. This program is the first of it's kind and in many cases the results have been really amazing.

Program Objectives:

  • Learn the skills of equine communication.

  • Encourage safety while working with horses.

  • Improve self awareness.

  • Improve self esteem.

  • Improve motivation skills.

  • Improve speech and communication skills.

  • Promote language processing skills by following directions and sequential actions.

  • Improve imagination skills.

  • Improve self discipline skills.

  • Develop focus and concentration skills.

  • Develop empathy, kindness, and accountability for one's actions through communication with the horse.

  • Improve physical skills including balance.

  • Learn games to play with the horses using their language.

  • Learn the power of the mind in communicating with the horses, as well as in everyday life.

  • Open possibilities for the future through positive thinking.

  • Learn problem solving strategies.

  • Develop a relationship with the horse as a partner and companion.

  • Help horses within their lives.

  • Improve horses' behaviour in the facility.


Making contact, putting the power of your mind to work.Horsemanship skills using the horse's language are taught with consideration to the capabilities of each individual student. A single lesson may include some of the following skills:

  • moving the horse forward

  • backing the horse

  • turning the horse away from you

  • turning the horse toward you

  • lunging at the walk, trot, and lope

  • changing the direction of the horse's movement

  • changing the speed of the horse's movement

  • stopping the horse

  • playing with the horse at liberty (without halter, lead, or lunge line - same as above)

PLEASE NOTE: All students are required to wear riding helmets during the lesson.
